DIFFERENT STYLING TECHNIQUES FOR CURLY HAIR

6 different stying ideas

Having curly hair is a double-edged sword. While it's naturally bouncy and textured, it can be challenging to manage and style. If you're struggling to find the right styling method for your curly hair, you're in luck! We've gathered some popular techniques that can help you achieve your desired look. Here are some tips to get you started:

Finger Coiling To create defined, spiral curls, use your fingers to twist small sections of wet hair around themselves. Hold the coil in place until it dries, then release for bouncy, defined curls.

Finger Rolling

Smooth out a small section of hair, roll inwards to the top and pull the inside downwards leaving a spiral curl, diffuse and scrunch when set.

Scrunching

Enhance your natural curls and reduce frizz by scrunching your hair with a microfiber towel or t-shirt after applying styling products. Scrunch up towards your scalp until dry or use a diffuser whilst scrunching.

Plopping

Reduce frizz and enhance curls by placing a t-shirt or microfiber towel on a flat surface and carefully lowering your wet hair hair onto it after applying products. Twist the sides around your head to create a "plop" and let your hair dry in this position.

Denman Brush

Detangle and define curls with a Denman brush after applying styling products. Gently comb through each section and shake slightly to form curl clumps, alternatively twist sections around the handle of the brush to form corkscrew curls doing so creates more defined curls and reduce frizz.

Pineappling

Preserve your curls overnight by gathering your hair into a high, loose ponytail on top of your head. This helps prevent tangling and flattening of your curls while you sleep, secure with a satin pineapple protector.

Air Drying Allow your hair to dry naturally without heat for a more relaxed look. Apply styling products and let your hair air dry for effortless waves, be careful not to sleep and bare in mind hair is at its most sensitive when wet.

Remember, each curly-haired individual is unique, so it's essential to find the technique that works best for you. Don't be afraid to try new products and methods to achieve your perfect curls. Happy styling! ...Jen x
